【摘要】:Uses8212;Therequirementsofthispracticeareintendedtoprovidemanholessuitableforinstallationinpipelineorconduittrenches,landfillperimeters,andlandfillswithlimitedsettlementcharacteristics.Directinstallationinsanitarylandfillsorotherfillssubjecttolarge(inexcessof10%)soilsettlementsmayrequirespecialdesignsoutsidethescopeofthispractice.4.1.1Manholesareassumedtobesubjecttogravityflowonly.DesignAssumption8212;ThedesignmethodologyinthispracticeappliesonlytomanholesthatareinstalledinbackfillconsistingofClassI,ClassII,orClassIIImaterialasdefinedinPracticeD2321,whichhasbeencompactedtoaminimumof90%standardproctordensity.Thedesignsarebasedonthebackfillextendingatleast3.5ft(1m)fromtheperimeterofthemanholeforthefullheightofthemanholeandextendinglaterallytoundisturbedinsitusoil.Manholesareassumedplacedonastablebaseconsistingofatleast12in.(30.5cm)ofClassImaterialcompactedtoatleast95%standardproctordensityoraconcreteslab.Thefoundationsoilsunderthebasemustprovideadequatebearingstrengthtocarrydowndragloads.4.2.1Manholesinstalledinsanitarylandfillsorotherfillsexperiencinglargesettlementsmayrequirespecialdesignsbeyondthescopeofthispractice.ThedesignershouldevaluateeachspecificsitetodeterminethesuitabilityforuseofHDPEmanholesandthedesignershouldprepareawrittenspecificationforinstallation,whichisbeyondthescopeofthispractice.1.1Thisspecificationcoversgeneralandbasicproceduresrelatedtothedesignofmanholesandcomponentsmanufacturedfromhigh-densitypolyethylene(HDPE)foruseinsubsurfaceapplicationsandappliestopersonnelaccessstructures.Thepracticecoversthematerial,thestructuraldesignrequirementsofthemanholebarrel(alsocalledverticalriserorshaft),floor(bottom),andtop,andjointsbetweenshaftsections.1.2ThispracticeofferstheminimumrequirementsfortheproperdesignofanHDPEmanhole.Duetothevariabilityinmanholeheight,diameter,andthesoileachmanholemustbedesignedanddetailedindividually.Whenproperlyusedandimplemented,thispracticecanhelpensureasafeandreliablestructurefortheindustry.1.3Disclaimer-Thereaderiscautionedthatindependentprofessionaljudgmentmustbeexercisedwhendataorrecommendationssetforthinthispracticeareapplied.ThepublicationofthematerialcontainedhereinisnotintendedasarepresentationorwarrantyonthepartofASTMthatthisinformationissuitableforgeneralorparticularuse,orfreedomfrominfringementofanypatentorpatents.Anyonemakinguseofthisinformationassumesallliabilityarisingfromsuchuse.Thedesignofstructuresiswithinthescopeofexpertiseofalicensedarchitect,structuralengineer,orotherlicensedprofessionalfortheapplicationofprinciplestoaparticularstructure.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
