【摘要】:Coefficientsoflinearthermalexpansionareused,forexample,fordesignpurposesandtodetermineiffailurebythermalstressmayoccurwhenasolidbodycomposedoftwodifferentmaterialsissubjectedtotemperaturevariations.ThistestmethodiscomparabletoTestMethodD3386fortestingelectricalinsulationmaterials,butitcoversamoregeneralgroupofsolidmaterialsanditdefinestestconditionsmorespecifically.ThistestmethodusesasmallerspecimenandsubstantiallydifferentapparatusthanTestMethodsE228andD696.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminestheapparentcoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionofsolidmaterialsusingthermomechanicalanalysistechniques.RelatedinformationcanbefoundinRefs.(,).1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletosolidmaterialsthatexhibitsufficientrigidityoverthetesttemperaturerangesuchthatthesensingprobedoesnotproduceindentationofthespecimen.1.3Therecommendedlowerlimitofcoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionmeasuredwiththistestmethodis5m/(mC).Thetestmethodmaybeusedatlower(ornegative)expansionlevelswithdecreasedaccuracyandprecision(seeSection).1.4Thistestmethodisapplicabletothetemperaturerangefrom120to900C.Thetemperaturerangemaybeextendeddependingupontheinstrumentationandcalibrationmaterialsused.1.5Computerorelectronicbasedinstruments,techniques,ordatatreatmentequivalenttothistestmethodmayalsobeused.Note1Usersofthistestmethodareexpresslyadvisedthatallsuchinstrumentsortechniquesmaynotbeequivalent.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertodeterminethenecessaryequivalencypriortouse.1.6SIvaluesarethestandard.1.7ThistestmethodisrelatedtoISO11359-2butissignificantlydifferentintechnicaldetail.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
